History of Our Local

Local 159 was founded on April 3rd, 1915 in Martinez, California. 90 years later, our offices are still headquartered in Martinez where we have our union hiring hall, Journeymen and Apprentice Training facility and assembly hall. With over 500 members and over 100 union contractors, we provide skilled plumbers, steamfitters, HVAC Refrigeration technicians and service plumbers for work in Contra Costa County and beyond.
